San Diego Chargers @ Chicago Bears Sun. Nov. 20, 2011 4:15 p.m. EST
Coming into this NFL regular season, the San Diego Chargers were considered to be a team that was ready to bounce back from a disappointing season last year. Even though the Chargers were statistically the best team in the league on both sides of the football last season, San Diego failed to win the AFC West division title and missed the playoffs entirely.
This season things haven’t gone much better for Norv Turner’s squad as the San Diego Chargers have struggled all year long. Not only has this team had to deal with multiple injuries, most importantly to perennial Pro Bowl tight end Antonio Gates, but superstar quarterback Philip Rivers has had one of his worst seasons as a pro with some serious problems throwing interceptions.
With Rivers having a down year and the Chargers dealing with injuries, the San Diego franchise has begun to struggle and as a result has lost four straight to the New York Jets (27-21), Kansas City Chiefs (23-20 OT), Green Bay Packers (45-38) and the Oakland Raiders (24-17). Granted, these losses were by much, but they are still losses nonetheless and have really put the San Diego Chargers in a tough spot as they could be on the outside looking in on the playoffs once again.
In Week 11, the San Diego Chargers will try to bounce back as they will go on the road to the Windy City to face off against the up-and-coming Chicago Bears. A win over the Bears would be just what the Chargers need to get back on track, but Chicago has really started to come on strong as of late and will be an extremely tough test for Philip Rivers and his boys.
As of right now, the Chicago Bears are favored to get the win in Week 11 with a -4. This spread is right on the money in my opinion as the Bears are the better team coming into this matchup and will be playing at Soldier Field in Chicago.
