Ever since the Denver Broncos drafted two-time BCS champion and Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow in the 2010 NFL draft the Mile High City has had Tebow fever with the strong fan base lobbying for the former Florida superstar to become the starting quarterback. With all the fans on the Tebow bandwagon and the Broncos struggling with veteran quarterback Kyle Orton under center, it was just a matter of time before new head coach John Fox would make the switch to give Tim Tebow the starting job.
This season the fans lobbying for Tebow to become the starter in Denver was louder than ever as seemingly everyone in the Mile High City wanted Orton gone and the fan favorite under center. After just a few games this season, the Broncos made the move and basically put Orton’s future in Denver in serious doubt with Tebow being the future of the quarterback position for John Fox.
Not only was the move made to make Tebow the starter, but so far the bold decision to make the switch has paid off for the new head coach with the Denver Broncos going 4-1 with Tim Tebow as the starter. With Tebow now proving he is the best quarterback for this team moving forward, the Broncos have made another bold decision by waiving Kyle Orton.
At 29-years-old, Kyle Orton could potentially still have a lot of football left in those legs and with the recent injuries to Matt Schaub (Houston Texans), Jay Cutler (Chicago Bears) and Matt Cassel (Kansas City Chiefs) there will be no shortage of teams interested in signing the veteran for the rest of the season.
The logical move would be Kyle Orton signing with his former team in the Chicago Bears. With the Bears having to hand the offense over to Caleb Haine, Chicago might have some serious interest in re-acquiring Kyle Orton.
