Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions Thurs. Nov 24, 2025 12:30 p.m. EST
One of the best Thanksgiving Day matchups in recent history will take place this Thursday when the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers go on the road to take on the up-and-coming division rival Detroit Lions. Not only will the Packers be putting their perfect 10-0 record on the line on Thanksgiving Day, but they will face a team that many people believe might be able to compete with them in a classic shootout between high-powered offenses.
Coming into Week 12’s Thanksgiving Day showdown with the Lions, the Packers will try to keep the perfect season alive as they go for their 11th straight win since winning the Super Bowl title over the Pittsburgh Steelers last season. The remaining schedule for the Green Bay Packers is fairly promising with the potential of this team going 16-0 looking pretty good, but the toughest test of this undefeated squad will come in two games against the Detroit Lions.
Even though the Detroit Lions aren’t really the same team that they were earlier in the season when they started the year 5-0, Matthew Stafford and company have arguably one of the most potent offenses in the NFL and could score up to 40+ points on any given Sunday. Despite these two seemingly unstoppable offenses dominating the headlines heading into this NFC North division showdown, I believe the defenses of these two teams will be the story of the day as Charles Woodson and Ndamukong Suh will steal the spotlight.
With that being said, this game won’t be as high-scoring like everyone anticipates it will be. If an offense does go off for a big number, the Packers will almost certainly be the team to do it.
As of right now, the Green Bay Packers have been given the edge in this matchup with a -7 point spread. The Packers should get the win in this game, but the Lions might make it close.
