Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins Sun. Nov. 20, 2011 1 p.m. EST
The last few weeks have been great for the Dallas Cowboys as they have gone from a perennial underachiever to a team with high hopes of making the playoffs and winning their division title. There are still seven games left in the regular season and anything can happen, but the Cowboys have something they haven’t had in years with a dominant ground game.
With up-and-coming running back DeMarco Murray leading the way, the Dallas Cowboys finally have the running game to compliment the potent passing. Now that superstar quarterback Tony Romo has a threat coming out of the backfield, the offense has started to open up and both the passing and running game has been firing on all cylinders as a result.
Coming into Week 11, the Dallas Cowboys have won two straight against the Seattle Seahawks (23-13) and the Buffalo Bills (44-7). These wins were crucial for Jason Garrett and company as this team continues to make up ground in the NFC East division. This week the Cowboys will play in a big divisional game against the lowly Washington Redskins.
Even though the Washington Redskins started off the season red-hot with three wins in their first four games, things have drastically changed since then with five straight losses that has knocked them out of contention for the NFC East division title. Despite no longer being in the running for division title or a playoff spot for that matter, the Redskins are still a team that the Cowboys won’t take lightly.
As of right now, the Dallas Cowboys are favored to win this NFC East division battle with a -8.5 point spread. This spread is a bit higher than I’d like, but still a good bet considering the fact that the Cowboys offense is playing at a high level.
