The Los Angeles Lakers are still considered to be one of the best all-around teams in the NBA today and potentially a NBA title contender next season, but they have already gone through some changes that will make this storied franchise look much different moving forward. Not only is the Zen Master Phil Jackson no longer in Laker land, but new head coach Mike Brown has come in and some players might not be on the roster next season.
The first domino to fall before next season is the high-flying backup shooting guard Shannon Brown. Even though Brown did show some improvement last season and is considered a promising young player, the Lakers labeled him as a disappointment and as a result the youngster looks like he will be heading elsewhere.
Reportedly, Shannon Brown has taken his player option and will leave $2.3 million dollars he was set to be paid next season on the table in Los Angeles. As a result, one of the most athletic players in the league will become a free agent and available to the highest bidder. There is no telling how much interest Brown will get around the league, but one team that will almost certainly take a look at signing the free agent is the Chicago Bulls.
With the Chicago Bulls having a huge void at the shooting guard position, Shannon Brown will be a on their short list of signees before next season. With the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) now expired, no teams are allowed to talk with players are they can be fined up to as much as $1 million dollars for each infraction.
The real question for Shannon Brown is whether or not he will get the kind of money he is looking for from another team. In my opinion, Brown will get a bigger role somewhere else, but probably won’t make as much has he is expecting.

I think Shannon Brown would be fantastic for the bulls no matter what, the thing that would make it a dream come true is if he could improve his three ball, he can create his own shot and run with rose on the fast break with his speed and hops, they could make an electrifying team, but if Brown can hit the three at 40 percent or so he could be our sg of the future, considering he’s only 25
