Philadelphia Eagles could be targeting veteran free agents Plaxico Burress and Randy Moss

Last season the Philadelphia Eagles had somewhat of a breakout year as they saw superstar Michael Vick take over the starting quarterback position and resurrect his career in the NFL. Not only was Vick back to form as a superstar in this league, but he had brought another dimension to his game by being just as dominant through the air as he was on the ground.

Even though the Eagles have one of the best young wide receivers in the game in DeSean Jackson, Philly will be looking to bring in another go-to wideout before next season to make this potent offense that much better moving forward. Fortunately, the Eagles will have no shortage of options as the wide receiver position as there will be plenty of free agents at wideout when the new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) goes into action and the NFL lockout officially ends.

The two veteran wide receivers that the Philadelphia Eagles might have on top of their list when the NFL lockout ends is Plaxico Burress formerly of the New York Giants and future Hall of Famer Randy Moss.

Reportedly, both Burress and Moss might get a lot of interest around the league when the NFL can start conducting business as usual. Plaxico will most likely get the bulk of the attention ironically as many teams believe that he is legitimately rehabilitated and ready to contribute for a perennial Super Bowl title contender like the Philadelphia Eagles.

Randy Moss on the other hand rubbed a lot of teams the wrong way last season, but he has been reported to be in “freakish” good shape right now by his agent. This might be a bunch of hot air by an agent looking to get his client signed before next season, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Randy Moss have gone through a major wakeup call after he went from one of the best wide receivers in the game last season to someone that no team wanted.

It will be interesting to see what moves the Philadelphia Eagles make before next season, but I believe no matter what direction they decide to go in they will be a better all-around team when they get back on the gridiron.
