New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sun. Oct. 16, 2011 4:15 p.m. EST
Last season the NFC South division was arguably one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL with three legitimate contenders for the division title, but this season things have changed once again with the New Orleans Saints being the clear favorite to reclaim the division title and cruise into the playoffs.
At this point in time, the only team that can really challenge Drew Brews and company for the NFC South division crown is the up-and-coming Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even though the Bucs are coming off a devastating loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5 in which they gave up 48 points to Jim Hargbaugh’s boys, the Bucs are still a talented football team that is more than capable of rebounding with promising young quarterback Josh Freeman under center.
Personally, I believe the New Orleans Saints are the second best team in the league right now behind the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers, but the Tampa Bay Bucs might still be able to give Sean Payton’s squad a run for their money considering the fact that this game will be played in Tampa Bay.
As of right now, the New Orleans Saints are favored to get the win in Week 6 over the division rival Tampa Bay Bucs with a -4 point spread. This spread is a bit low in my opinion as I believe there is a potential for a blowout here, but the Bucs are playing at home where they tend to dominate.
Despite the fact that the Saints will be on the road, I would take Drew Brees and company to cover the spread and get the win in Week 6.
Take the Saints at -4.
