San Diego Chargers @ New York Jets Sun. Oct. 23, 2011 1 p.m. EST
It might be time to hit the panic button for Rex Ryan and his New York Jets as they are not the same team they have been over the last two years and are competing against two very good teams in the AFC East in the up-and-coming Buffalo Bills and the always dominant New England Patriots. Even though the Jets are coming off a win over the division rival Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, Mark Sanchez and company will need to play extremely well in the second half of the NFL regular season just to clinch a playoff spot in the AFC Conference.
Coming into Week 7, the New York Jets will be in a must win situation and they will have their hands full against the San Diego Chargers. Despite the fact that the season won’t really change one way or another for the Chargers win or lose, San Diego is competing with resurgent Oakland Raiders squad in the AFC West division and will also need to keep up their winning ways.
At this point in time in the season, the San Diego Chargers are arguably the better all-around team when compared with the New York Jets. Both of these teams are very talented on both sides of the football, but the Jets have fallen off a bit this season and might be headed for a loss this week on their home field.
As of right now, the San Diego Chargers have been favored to get the win with a -2 point spread. This spread indicates just how close this game will be this weekend, but in the end Philip Rivers should lead his team to victory.
