Dallas Cowboys @ New England Patriots Sun. Oct. 16, 2011 4:15 p.m. EST
Once again quarterback Tony Romo has been blamed for all the problems the Dallas Cowboys are going through this season as America’s Team comes into Week 6 with a disappointing 2-2 record. At this point in time, it has gotten pretty ridiculous in Dallas when it comes to Romo and the kind of negative press the Pro Bowl gunslinger gets on a weekly basis. There is no question that Romo has single-handedly blown games with his costly mistakes, but to blame him for everything going wrong in Big D is a little too much.
In Week 6, the Dallas Cowboys will get a key member back in the mix on offense with the return of Pro Bowl wide receiver Miles Austin. With Austin playing alongside up-and-comer Dez Bryant and perennial Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten, the Dallas Cowboys offense is as good in the NFL, but this week the offense will have to be perfect in order to keep up with superstar quarterback Tom Brady and the 4-1 New England Patriots.
It would be safe to say that this game will showcase absolutely no defense what so ever as with both teams looking to put up huge numbers offensively. It would also be safe to say that the Patriots come into this game as heavy favorites to get their fifth win of the season since they have been firing on all cylinders on offense this season with no signs of slowing down on that side of the football.
Even though the New England Patriots are by far the better team coming into this matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, Bill Belichick and company have only been favored to get the win with a -7 point spread. With the way the Cowboys have been playing this season, I would say the safe bet would be to take the Patriots.
Take the Patriots at -7.
