Chicago Bears @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sun. Oct. 23, 2011 1 p.m. EST
Last season the Chicago Bears were one of the best all-around teams in the NFL with a legitimate shot of contending for a Super Bowl title, but they fell just short of reaching the big game after falling to the arch rival Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game. With quarterback Jay Cutler going down with a knee injury and the Bears defense not being able to hold off Aaron Rodgers and company, Chicago had to go home and start licking wounds.
This season the Chicago Bears have tried to get back on track and become that elite team in the NFC Conference once again, but have struggled to protect Jay Cutler and have gotten some stiff competition in the NFC North with the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers and the up-and-coming Detroit Lions.
In Week 7, the boys from the Windy City will have to pull it together once again against a very good football team in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even though two weeks the Bucs were absolutely destroyed and embarrassed by the San Francisco 49ers (48-3), last week Josh Freeman and company were able to bounce back with an impressive win over the division rival New Orleans Saints.
The Saints should still come out on top in the NFC South division this season, but the Bucs have a chance to make some ground if they can get the best of the Bears in Week 7.
As of right now, the Chicago Bears have been favored -1 point spread. This game could be the game of the week, but in the end I believe home field advantage will be the key to victory once again for the Bucs.
