Saints @ Packers Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 4:25 p.m. ET
In the aftermath of last Monday’s decision to rule a touchdown for the Seattle Seahawks instead of an interception for the Green Bay Packers by the replacement referees, Aaron Rodgers and company are about a mad and motivated as any team in the league.
There’s no question that the Packers shouldn’t have let the Seahawks be in a position to win Week 3’s matchup, but the outcome remains the same with Green Bay losing two of the first three games of the season.
The result of the loss to Seattle may prove to be costly for Mike McCarthy’s team moving forward in terms of competing for a playoff spot, but in the meantime the Packers must get back on track and seem to have the motivation to do just that.
In Week 4, the Packers will face off against a familiar foe in the form of the New Orleans Saints. Even though the Saints were considered to be a potential Super Bowl title contender coming into Week 1, Drew Brees and company have failed to live up to expectations with three straight losses to start the season.
The Saints’ offense has arguably been one of the most potent in the NFL over the last few years with Brees under center. New Orleans’ offensive firepower is still intimidating to opposing defenses, but it’s become clear that this team is in for a long season of disappointment after a nightmare off-season filled with controversy.
As of right now, Green Bay is heavily favored to come out with the win in Week 4. The Saints will have a big hill to climb at Lambeau Field and will most likely lose their fourth straight contest with the Packers running away with the victory.
Take the Packers at -8.
