Hall of Famer and six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen has been arrested for felony assault. The Chicago Bulls legend got into a fight with a fan asking for an autograph outside a Japanese restaurant on Sunday night in Malibu, California.
Allegedly, Pippen knocked out the fan after the fan asked for the autograph and began to kick the fan while knocked out on the ground. Details of the incident outside of Nobu are unclear at this point with reports only stating Pippen struck the fan after requesting an autograph.
Over the past few years, Pippen hasn’t been very involved in basketball operations with the Bulls, but has put his two cents in about the debate over the greatest player to have ever played the game.
Two-time NBA champion LeBron James of the Miami Heat has received a lot of recognition over the past few years for being arguably the greatest player of all-time. The Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant and NBA legend Michael Jordan have been considered the cream of the crop in terms of being among the greatest of all-time with Jordan seemingly being atop of the list.
Pippen believes that LeBron will be better than Jordan in the near future and now seems to have a lot of trouble on his hands with this latest incident. The once dominant force for the Bulls and sidekick of Jordan will likely be charged for the vicious beating of the fan, but it remains to be seen what provoked the incident.
No details in terms of what motivated Pippen to lash out at the fan or why he felt the need to continue beating the man once unconscious, but the real story will unfold in the days to come with Pippen potentially facing time in prison for his actions.
