NFL Week 1: Cowboys vs Redskins Odds and Predictions

Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins Sun. Sept. 12th 8:20pm EST

There is no question that the Dallas Cowboys will be legitimate Super Bowl title contenders heading into the 2010 NFL regular season, but they will be tested out of the gate as they will face off against the NFC East division rival Washington Redskins led by two-time Super Bowl champion head coach Mike Shanahan.

In week 1, they are odds favorites to beat the Skins with the Cowboys spread set at -3.5 by leading online sportsbooks.

Even though the Washington Redskins have high hopes for the future with Mike Shanahan running the show and six-time Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb under center, they will be in for a rude awakening in Week 1 as the Dallas Cowboys will most likely beat the Redskins in convincing fashion.

Later in the regular season, the Washington Redskins might be a better matchup for the division favorites, but in Week 1 they will most likely be without Donovan McNabb and will be going up against one the best defenses in the NFL.

Fortunately, there is hope for the future in the nation’s capital, but Week 1 will be nothing more than a learning experience as Tony Romo and company should light up the scoreboard all day long.

Along with already having one of the most potent offenses in the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys will be opening the season with the debut of a promising rookie wide receiver in Dez Bryant (Oklahoma State). Even though he has missed the entire preseason due to sprained ankle, Bryant could have an instant impact in the offense and become one of Tony Romo’s favorite targets.

Despite the fact that Donovan McNabb might not be playing in the season opener with a bum ankle of his own, backup quarterback Rex Grossman has played well in his place and could be force to be reckoned with for the Dallas Cowboys, but most likely Wade Phillips’ squad will cruise to victory.

We placed our NFL football betting wagers for this week in at DSI Diamond Sportsbook as they have incredible tools and lines on the games.
