#1 Green Bay Packers (13-1)
The quest for the perfect season is officially over after the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers were stunned by a motivated Kansas City Chiefs team in Week 15. This loss took everyone by surprise as no one anticipated the Chiefs even putting up a fight against the Packers after the firing of head coach Todd Haley and veteran quarterback Kyle Orton getting his first start with his new team.
Despite the loss, the Packers are still the top dogs on these power rankings and will almost certainly stay there unless there is a collapse in the next two weeks. The Packers will face the arch division rival Chicago Bears on Christmas Day.
#2 New Orleans Saints (11-3)
The one team in the NFL that can be closely compared to the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers is the New Orleans Saints. With an offense that is seemingly unstoppable with quarterback Drew Brees on a record-setting pace, the Saints have been red-hot as of late and will be playing for the NFC South division title this weekend against the rival Atlanta Falcons Monday Night Football.
#3 San Francisco 49ers (11-3)
Despite multiple blackouts and game stoppages, the San Francisco 49ers were able to dominate the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football (20-3) and are more than worthy of being third on this list behind the Packers and the Saints.
#4 New England Patriots (11-3)
With the battle between Tom Brady and Tim Tebow in the books with the Patriots coming out on top, the New England squad has won the AFC East division title and are looking at making a deep run in the playoffs after most likely resting starters in the next two games.
#5 Baltimore Ravens (10-4)
After losing in convincingly fashion to the San Diego Chargers in Week 15 (34-14), the Baltimore Ravens appear to be flawed once again and might struggle to get back to form before or during the playoffs.
