#1 Green Bay Packers (15-1)
After a season full of high expectations and constant media coverage, the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers have been able to live up to the hype and punch their ticket into the playoffs. Despite the defense not being what it was last season, the Packers are still arguably the best team in the league heading into the postseason and have a good chance of winning their second straight Super Bowl title.
Green Bay Packers clinched a first-round bye in the playoffs.
#2 New Orleans Saints (13-3)
As arguably one of the underrated teams in the NFL this season, the New Orleans Saints have been near unstoppable in the second half of the NFL regular season with win after win after win. Not only have the Saints been near flawless in the second half, but they also witnessed their superstar quarterback Drew Brees make history by breaking Dan Marino’s passing record to become one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
The New Orleans Saints will face the Detroit Lions in the first round of the playoffs at the Superdome on Sat. Jan. 7.
#3 San Francisco 49ers (13-3)
No one could’ve predicted that new head coach Jim Harbaugh would be such a big hit in the Bay Area in just his first season, but that he has been and as a result the former Stanford signal caller has led the San Francisco 49ers to an impressive 13-3, NFC West division title and a first-round bye in the playoffs.
#4 New England Patriots (13-3)
The New England Patriots’ defense continues to be highly suspect heading into the playoffs, but Bill Belichick and company will have a week to figure things out as they have clinched a first-round bye in the playoffs.
#5 Baltimore Ravens (12-4)
The Baltimore Ravens may have gone 6-0 in a highly competitive AFC North division and beaten teams like the San Francisco 49ers this season, but this team still seems to be flawed in many ways and might be headed to an early exit in the postseason if they can’t get it together.
