The writing has been on the wall in the Big Apple that Tim Tebow would be trade or released by the New York Jets before next season ever since the team decided to start third stringer Greg McElroy over backup Tim Tebow at quarterback once starter Mark Sanchez was benched towards the end of the 2012 NFL season.

With Tebow getting the short end of the stick by the Jets’ coaching staff in 2012, the popular backup quarterback has no idea what the future holds for him moving forward. Tebow has said that there’s no telling what will happen once the decision is in the hands of the front office in New York.

Although Tebow never really got a fair shake or an opportunity to prove his worth to the team in 2012, the team will part ways with Tebow in one way or another. The consensus early on was the team would attempt to trade Tebow, but New York has struggled to find a suitable trade partner for the former Heisman trophy winner.

It seems that no team at this point in time wants to take a chance on Tebow or is willing to give up anything in exchange for the Florida product via trade. With that being said, the team will likely be forced to release Tebow before next season rather than trading the two-time BCS champion.

At this point in time, no team in the league is showing considerable interest in Tebow leaving a lot of doubt about the immediate future of the quarterback in the NFL. Although not team is showing interest right now, there will likely be teams willing to sign him to a one or two-year deal once finally available after being released by the Jets in the near future.
