Denver Broncos trade Tim Tebow to the New York Jets

After signing future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning to a five-year megadeal worth $96, up-and-comer Tim Tebow was made expendable and the Denver Broncos’ best trade asset in the offseason. There is no question that Tebow has a future in this league as a starting quarterback if he can work out his issues throwing the football, but whether or not teams will trade for him in order to make him a starter remained to be seen.

Fortunately, Tebow didn’t stay in limbo for long in the Mile High City with plenty of teams showing interest in the third-year quarterback. The consensus around the league and amongst Tebow fans was that he would go back to where he started in Florida. The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Miami Dolphins have been looking are on the hunt for a starting quarterback to rejuvenate the struggling NFL franchises.

With Tim Tebow being a hero in the state of Florida with two BCS championships under Urban Meyer as a Gator, the obvious destination for Tebow was back where he was the most successful. Unfortunately, despite a likely reunion with the Florida faithful, the up-and-coming gunslinger was traded to the New York Jets.

It is no secret that both head coach Rex Ryan and quarterback Mark Sanchez are on the hotseat in New York right now after a disappointing season and yet another failed promise of a Super Bowl. Ryan took most of the heat for the last season’s failure, but a lot of people still point the finger at Sanchez.

Despite all the negativity going on in New York with the Jets, the storied NFL franchise decided to take advantage of the situation in Denver and trade a 4th round pick to the Broncos in exchange for Tebow.

Mark Sanchez is still being dubbed the starter for the Jets moving forward, but don’t be surprised to see a quarterback controversy brewing in New York once the season begins.
