It is finally official, second-year quarterback and fan favorite Tim Tebow is the new starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos. Even though the Broncos are coming off a loss to the division rival San Diego Chargers and will most likely be unable to contend in the AFC West division this season as a result, new head coach John Fox has decided to swallow his pride and put in the young stud out of Florida.

There may still be a lot of NFL analysts and former players that believe that Tim Tebow will never be a solid starting quarterback in this league, but after his impressive performance against the Chargers last week it is hard to argue that he isn’t the best option Denver has under center this season. Kyle Orton is a great quarterback when he is on his game and healthy, but it seems as though his time is over as the starter in the Mile High City after just five games as the number one gunslinger for John Fox.

Personally, I believe this is the right move and something that should have been done before the beginning of the season despite all the criticism. Not only does Tim Tebow give the Broncos a better chance to win every week, but also he brings a different kind of spirit and fire to this team that has been sorely lacking since the retirement of NFL legend John Elway.

With Tebow under center, the opposing defense will always be on their heels since he can seemingly make a play in any situation. There has been a lot of talk about Tebow’s throwing motion and poor fundamentals, but there is no question at this point in time that there is something about this kid that motivates a team to win.

With that being said, I believe that Tim Tebow will be the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos for a very long time and one of the most exciting players to watch in the NFL from here on out. The former Heisman trophy winner will get his first start this season after the bye week against the Miami Dolphins in Week 7.
