New York Jets @ Philadelphia Eagles Sun. Dec. 18, 2011 4:15 p.m. EST
As arguably the most disappointing team in the NFL this season, the Philadelphia Eagles will come into Week 15 of the regular season with an ugly 5-8 record and no hope for a playoff run. Despite the end of the “Dream Team” season, Michael Vick and company will try to gain some momentum to end the season with some wins in the last three games.
In Week 15, the Philadelphia Eagles will have a tough challenge ahead of them once against the New York Jets. With the Jets fighting to clinch a playoff spot through the AFC Wild Card, Mark Sanchez and company will come into this game with the must-win mentality as they can’t afford to lose even one game in the last three.
On paper, these two teams would have been a marquee matchup at the beginning of the NFL regular season with every football fan tuning in to watch what could be the game of the year, but now that isn’t the case as the New York Jets are without doubt the better football team and should come out with a win in Week 15.
Despite the Jets being the better team coming into this matchup, the Eagles are still very dangerous and might be able to get the best of Rex Ryan’s squad on Sunday. Ironically enough, even though they have a very disappointing record of 5-8 and haven’t been able to play consistently well this season, the Eagles have been favored to come out on top in this showdown with a -3 point spread.
Philly may still be a scary team on both sides of the football, but they haven’t done anything over the past few weeks to convince me they can beat New York.
