Tim Tebow leads Denver Broncos to second win of the season

After replacing Kyle Orton in the second half of the loss to the division rival San Diego Chargers in Week 5, Tim Tebow put on a show and almost brought the Denver Broncos from behind to get the win. If recently traded wide receiver Brandon Lloyd (St. Louis Rams) hadn’t dropped a two-point conversion pass from Tebow, the Broncos could have gone on to win that game and gained some ground in the AFC West division.

Unfortunately, the Broncos lost to the Chargers, but a change was on the horizon after new head coach John Fox saw what Tim Tebow can do for this team. Not only has it become apparent that Tebow gives the Broncos the best chance to win this season over quarterback Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn, but this former Heisman trophy winner has proven to be the real deal when the game is on the line.

There is no question that Tim Tebow has a lot of learn in order to be successful NFL quarterback for the Denver Broncos, but his fire and will to win is second to none in this league which makes him a very valuable commodity for the struggling NFL franchise.

In Week 7, the Denver Broncos were fresh off a much-needed bye week and John Fox had made the move to start Tim Tebow against the lowly Miami Dolphins. This was a perfect opportunity for Tebow as it would be in a state that absolutely adores the quarterback for his success with the Florida Gators.

With that being said, Tebow had a great chance to show what he can do as the starting quarterback, but in the first three quarters of this Week 7 matchup things didn’t look good for the Florida legend as he was just awful in every aspect of the game.

Heading into the fourth quarter against the Dolphins, the Broncos looked like they were headed for another loss and possibly another quarterback. Fortunately for Tebow, the former Heisman trophy winner stepped up his game and led the Broncos to 15 unanswered points in the last 2:44 and the win. Tebow’s numbers weren’t as impressive as expected with just 161 passing yards, 65 rushing yards and two passing touchdowns, but they were just enough to get the win over the Miami Dolphins, 18-15.
