After winning a second title with the Los Angeles Galaxy, the international superstar David Beckham decided to go overseas once again to play for Paris Saint-Germain. The consensus was Beckham would likely retire from the game of soccer once his stint with the French club came to an end and it seems as though that has come to fruition.

After 22 years in the sport, Beckham has decided to call it a career finishing with one of the most impressive resumes in the history of professional soccer. Beckham has been successful in every place he’s played and was able to help make soccer a considerably more popular sport in the United States after agreeing to sign a five-year deal with the Galaxy.

Beckham inked a deal to come to Los Angeles that was rumored to be worth $250 million. Although most reported the enormous number, Beckham’s deal was more like $32.5 million over the five-year period with everything else being endorsement money.

As a result of Beckham’s presence in Los Angeles, the MLS grew considerably with expansion teams springing up all over the country and considerable interest spreading like wildfire.

Before heading over the United States to play with the Galaxy, Beckham had already established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world. Beckham made an impression on some of the best teams in the world like Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris Saint-German while winning a title in almost every stop along the way.

Beckham was considered a legend at Old Trafford and also made an impact in Madrid before heading to the United States to leave his mark on the American version of the game.

Even in his final stint on the pitch, Beckham was able to win a title in France before leaving an incredible legacy behind.
