The magical and unlikely run of six straight wins for Tim Tebow and the up-and-coming Denver Broncos is finally over. After suffering the second loss as a starter for the Broncos, Tebow’s record as Denver’s number one gunslinger is 6-2 with the Broncos still in the hunt for the AFC West division title at 8-6.
Despite the ugly 41-23 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 15, the Denver Broncos are still sitting pretty with a first place standing in the AFC West. With the Oakland Raiders losing the Detroit Lions (28-27), the Broncos are still atop the standings in the division and nearing a division title, but might get some trouble from the resurgent San Diego Chargers after they were able to convincingly beat the Baltimore Ravens (34-14) on Sunday night to improve to 7-7 (same record as Raiders).
Coming into Week 15, the Denver Broncos hosting the New England Patriots in the Mile High City was arguably the most anticipated matchup in the NFL with two of the NFL’s golden boys going head-to-head. The Tim Tebow and Tom Brady showdown was thought to be intriguing to say the least, but in the end it turned out that the Broncos are still a team learning to compete with the best of the best as they were put in their place against the unstoppable offense of the Patriots.
After scoring 41 points on the Broncos’ defense, the Patriots proved to everyone that they are still one of the best offenses in the NFL and ready for the playoffs as the win clinched the AFC East division title for Bill Belichick and company. This loss also proved that the Broncos’ defense might not be as good as everyone thought they were as they clearly struggled against an elite offense.
