A few years ago, the New York Giants were a team on the rise in the NFL as they had just won their first Super Bowl title in the Eli Manning era and had high hopes of competing with the best of the best in the NFC Conference in the years to come.
Unfortunately, things haven’t panned out all that well for the New York Giants as they have struggled to get back to form ever since they saw their best wide receiver head to jail after accidently shooting himself in the leg in a New York nightclub.
Despite no longer having arguably their best wide receiver and offensive threat on the field, the Giants don’t have a lack of talent at the position with Steve Smith and Hakeem Nicks making a name for themselves in Burress’ absence.
The New York Giants might not be the threat that they used to be in the NFC Conference with the emergence of teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints in the conference, but there might be a light at the end of the tunnel for their struggling offense as Plaxico Burress has applied for a work release program from prison.
Obviously there is a slim chance that Burress will get back into an NFL uniform during this release as usually inmates head back to prison on the weekends, but the Giants have said they do have some interest in bringing him back either this season or the next.
It will be interesting to see what happens when Burress finally gets back to playing in the NFL as he will be much older at 32, 33 or maybe even 34, but if he still has the speed, there will always be a team willing to take him.

Free agent Louis Amundson in charles barkley jersey is the only remaining high-quality post player on the market today, and his agent Mark Bartelstein in portland trail blazers jersey said the Hornets, the team aspect is one of competing Amundsen. “I want to say is that we and the Hornets have had exchanges, but on one of the team involved, I do not want to disclose too many details.” Bartelstein said, “we try to move forward, which is is a difficult decision for Amundson.”
“ungrateful New York fans so willing to underestimate and trash him. ”
Whaddya talking about? We loved Plaxico. We didn’t want him to go to jail. It wasn’t until he started trashing the organization that we shrugged and waved good bye. But he caught the game winning TD in SB 42 as I’m sure you remember, because all of us Giants fans sure do.
Eli played in the Plaxico era, not the other way around. What Giants fans need to realize is that he is the most talented receiver in the history of that organization. Eli is not his brother, and Mr. Burress’ acrobatic artistry compensated for mediocre passing.
If the NFL players association had any balls off the field, Plaxico would have at least finished the 08-09 season. When he returns, bet that he will make some team a champ.
I hope the Patriots get him, just to stick it to the ungrateful New York fans so willing to underestimate and trash him. If the Giants don’t beg him to return, they deserve to lose.
