The NBA season is over and the NBA lockout is underway, but that hasn’t stopped arguably the best player in the league from trying to get back to form as he looks for ways to keep his body in good condition for the seasons ahead. There is no question that Kobe Bryant has been one of the most banged up superstars in the NBA over the past few years, but with the unique ability to play through pain the Black Mamba hasn’t missed much time.
Despite not missing much time on the floor for the Los Angeles Lakers, the five-time NBA champion has taken a beating on his aging body and now it may have finally caught up with him as his knees just aren’t what they used to be. With that being said, the two-time NBA Finals MVP has decided to look outside the US to see if there is any way to get his knees back into game shape and ready for the grueling NBA season.
Fortunately, the NBA superstar has been able to find a remedy in Germany of all places by undergoing an experimental procedure call platelet-rich plasma therapy. This procedure is becoming more and more popular with professional athletes in this country and around the world with big-names like superstar golfer Tiger Woods, Philadelphia Phillies pitching ace Cliff Lee and New York Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty having gone through the same procedure.
Hopefully, for the sake the Lakers and the Bryant’s future in the NBA, the procedure is successful and something can rejuvenate the NBA superstar’s career. With three to five years or so left playing at a high level in the NBA, Kobe Bryant will need all the help he can get in order to continue playing at a championship level.
