Los Angeles Lakers stay red-hot with seventh straight win

Heading into the NBA All-Star break, the two-time defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers were getting criticized left and right as they had lost three straight games heading into All-Star weekend in Los Angeles and were thought to be losing their flair for winning. Obviously, Kobe Bryant and company are not a team to be underestimated as they are as resilient as any team in the NBA today with arguably the best head coach of all time and Phil Jackson calling the shots on the sidelines. The Sweet 16 is officially in the books and with just two games remaining in the Elite Eight, the Final Four of the 2011 NCAA Tournament is almost set in stone. All season long in college basketball, the one team that has gotten more attention than any other was the Ohio State Buckeyes. With superstar forward Jared Sullinger leading the way for this storied college basketball program and a solid team surrounding the Player of the Year candidate, this team was able to dominate the competition in the Big Ten Conference and clinch a number one seed in the 2011 NCAA Tournament. Coming into the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the Kansas Jayhawks (1) were using last season’s upset to Northern Iowa in the second round to motivate this team to go the distance in the Big Dance. With a number one seed in the Southwest Region, the Kansas Jayhawks (1) were the team to beat within their region once again, but this time the competition was weaker than in any other region as it could be argued the Jayhawks have had the easiest path of high seed in the tournament. Coming into the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the consensus around country was that the Ohio State Buckeyes were without a doubt the best all-around team in college basketball.
