Ever since the disappointing end of last season for the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints in which they were knocked out of the playoffs by the lowly Seattle Seahawks, the Big Easy has been buzzing about the future of star running back Reggie Bush. Even though Bush hasn’t really lived up to the hype he was given coming out of USC, the veteran running back has been a valuable asset for the Saints and more of a pass catching running back rather than the number option out of the backfield. The New England Patriots have done it yet again as the Bill Belichick and company have pulled off some trades where no one expected them to. Coming into this free agency period, the Patriots had been extremely quiet about their intentions and if they had any intentions at all. Despite no word coming out of Foxboro, New England may have made their already dominant squad even better on both sides of the football. Continue Reading…
The Seattle Seahawks are one of the many teams in the NFL next season that will have some drastic changes with some pretty big-names leaving town. The first domino dropped in Seattle when longtime veteran quarterback Matt Hasselback decided that he was not going to return to the Seahawks and would ultimately sign with the Tennessee Titans. After last season very public feud between head coach Jeff Fisher and quarterback Vince Young, the consensus was that one of the two would no longer be with the Tennessee Titans the following season. Most people believed that since Fisher was the longest tenured head coach in the league that Young would be the first one to go and the Titans would look to draft a quarterback in the 2011 NFL draft. Well, that didn’t happen as Fisher was let go and Young was still around, but the Titans did go with a quarterback in the draft with Jake Locker out of Washington. Continue Reading…
There has been a lot of speculation over the last few months about where veteran wide receiver might land once free agency begins in the NFL. There have been tons of teams linked to possibly signing the one-time Super Bowl champion like the Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles and even the Oakland Raiders, but it appears that he might be headed back to one of two teams that he has already played for in the past. The New York Jets have made their first big move in free agency as they were able to lock up one of the most sought after free agent wide receivers on the market in former Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes. As the number one priority of the offseason, the Jets did not hesitate to give Holmes exactly what he needed to stay in New York. Continue Reading…
Now that the Brett Favre saga is officially over in Minnesota, the Vikings must begin a new era of football at the quarterback position and may have found the right man to bring to replace the three-time NFL MVP in Donovan McNabb. Even though the franchise is will be grooming rookie quarterback Christian Ponder to be the future face of the Vikings, Minnesota would love to get their hands on a veteran like McNabb to teach the rookie the ropes and get him ready to eventually take over under center. The Seattle Seahawks have been one team in the NFL that has been concerned about one of the most important positions on their roster as their veteran quarterback Matt Hasselback was set to become a free agent. Despite getting an offer for $7 million for next season, the 36-year-old quarterback decided it was time to leave Seattle and test the free agent waters. Continue Reading…
It appears that the Brett Favre saga in the NFL might not be done just yet as a new rumor has started to circulate around the league with the three-time NFL MVP quarterback being linked to the Philadelphia Eagles. Obviously, with Michael Vick becoming one of the all-around quarterbacks in the league once again last season, the Eagles have no intention in making the 20-year veteran their starter, but bringing Favre into the mix does make things interesting as head coach Andy Reid might have some tricks up his sleeve.
