Friday, Leroy Hill was placed on the Injured Reserved – ending his season and ending a good source of depth for the Seattle Seahawks – or at least that’s what he used to be known for. This move is the end to his 2010 NFL season but not just that, possibly his NFL career with the Seahawks once this season concludes.

Why? Simply put, Hill has been peeling off a little at a time. He is always in trouble for something resulting in suspension and is not healthy. He has already received a pay reduction from the Seahawks - $4 million to be exact, which occurred in the off-season, in addition to additional years on his contract being pulled, which will make him a free agent come the end of this NFL season. He has had a lot of issues off the field, which have resulted in suspension from the league. Therefore, it’s unlikely that the Seahawks will decide to sign him at the end of the season for a new deal, which means he’s done in Seattle.

He was suspended for one game by the NFL and upon his return, he injured his Achilles tendon with special teams, which will require surgery. There was the possibility of receiving suspension for a situation related to domestic assault; however, that’s doubtful since he’s now on IR.

In Hill’s place, the Seattle Seahawks have decided to re-sign defensive tackle Craig Terrill. Just a few hours after Terrill receiving the call to be re-signed, he was at the field practicing with the squad. Provided that Brandon Mebane, who has been suffering from soreness in his calf, does not play in Week 4 against the St. Louis Rams, Terrill will likely be able to play, which will definitely provide some much-needed depth for the 2-1 Seahawks. However, this will be a decision that will come on game day and unlikely to be any sooner than that.
