NFL Week 8: Atlanta Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles

Falcons @ Eagles Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 1 p.m. ET

Coming into Week 8, the Atlanta Falcons are fresh off a bye week and the only undefeated team left in the NFL this season. As if the franchise-best 6-0 record wasn’t impressive enough, the Falcons control their own fate moving forward with a first place standing in the NFC South division well ahead of the second place New Orleans Saints at 2-4.

With a lot of space separating the Falcons and Saints, the division title in the NFC South is basically already in the books pending a complete collapse over the next 10 games. Despite that being the case, Matt Ryan and company cannot take any games lightly from here on out.

In Week 8, Atlanta will put the undefeated record on the line against former Falcon Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Although the Falcons appear to be by far the better all-around football team in comparison to the Eagles, Philadelphia will be a force to be reckoned with for many different reasons. For one, this game will be played on the Eagles’ home field at Lincoln Financial Field and Vick will be running the show with added motivation of being his former team that just happens to be unbeaten.

Even though Vick may have a big game against his former team in front of the Philadelphia faithful, the Falcons are without a doubt the best team in the league heading into this matchup and will look to prove that fact after their bye week.

As of right now, the Eagles are favored to get the win at home with a -1 point spread. Home field advantage will come into play with Vick potentially having a breakout performance, but Atlanta should get the win.

Take the Falcons at +1.
