Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons Sun. Sept. 18, 2011 8:20 p.m. EST
The Michael Vick saga continues in Philadelphia with great success thus far and now the superstar quarterback will return to the Georgia Dome where it all began in Week 2 as the starting quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles to take on his former team in the Atlanta Falcons.
This Week 2 matchup will be interesting for many reasons as this will be the first time that Vick faces his former team as the main man under center for another team. Not only is that a reason to be intrigued when these two NFL heavyweights go head-to-head, but the Falcons have been forced into a corner after getting dominated by the Chicago Bears in Week 1.
With that being said, the Atlanta Falcons will be under tremendous pressure until they can get a win. With the Falcons being a legitimate Super Bowl title contender and are supposed to have one of the best offenses in the NFL, this team will be in a must-win situation this week in order to prove that they are still a force to be reckoned with and can contend against the best of the best in the NFC Conference.
As for the Philadelphia Eagles, Michael Vick and company will be looking to stay hot with their second straight win of the season. Last week the Philadelphia Eagles destroyed the St. Louis Rams and showed that they might be able to live up to the hype this season, but this week they will be facing a much different and much more talented football in the Atlanta Falcons.
As of right now, the Philadelphia Eagles are favored by -3 to get the win in Week 2. This will be one of the toughest games to decide on in terms of placing a bet, but I believe taking the Eagles would be the smart choice.
Take the Eagles at -3.
