Ravens @ Browns Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 1 p.m. ET
After the first few weeks of the 2012 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens appeared to be the best team in the AFC Conference if not the entire NFL. Joe Flacco had seemingly been doing enough to get the offense clicking and the defense was as advertised, but unfortunately Baltimore has been streaky once again with no telling which team will show up on any given Sunday.
Obviously, the injuries on defense have been rather devastating to this team with losing Ray Lewis being the biggest blow thus far. Despite these injuries, the Ravens still have a decent record of 5-2 heading into Week 9’s matchup against the division rival Cleveland Browns.
Even though the Ravens led the way in the AFC North division and appear to be on the path to another division title with the Pittsburgh Steelers struggling to play consistently well this season, Baltimore is coming off the biggest loss of the year.
The Houston Texans absolutely dominated the Ravens before Baltimore’s bye week, 43-13. The loss was devastating to say the least as it was the first time season that Baltimore had faced a legitimate Super Bowl title contender outside of the New England Patriots.
In Week 9, the Ravens will try and bounce back from the loss to the Texans by going on the road to face the Browns in Cleveland. Although the Browns are coming off a win over the San Diego Chargers, Cleveland isn’t a very good team on either side of the football this season and will almost certainly be headed to a seventh loss on the year.
As of right now, Baltimore is favored to get the win on the road with -4 point spread. This spread is low and something that the Ravens should cover with relative ease.
Take the Ravens at -4.
