#1 Atlanta Falcons (7-0)

After a close call against the lowly Oakland Raiders before heading into their bye, Matt Ryan and company were able to hold off former Falcon Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8.

With this win over the Eagles, the Falcons remain the only undefeated team in the league and the clear favorite to win the NFC South division and possibly make a run at the Super Bowl.

#2 New York Giants (6-2)

The defending Super Bowl champions were tested yet again by a division rival in Week 8 as the Dallas Cowboys took Eli Manning and company to the brink of defeat.

Despite a valiant effort by Tony Romo in the final minutes of play, the Giants were able to hold off the Cowboys and grab their sixth win of the season while taking another step closer to winning the NFC East division title this season.

#3 Houston Texans (6-1)

The AFC South remains a cakewalk for the vastly improved Texans with no team within the division threatening a second consecutive division title and playoff berth.

#4 San Francisco 49ers (6-2)

After a Randy Moss flashback and an exceptional performance by Alex Smith, the 49ers were able to improve to 6-2 and separate themselves from the pack in the NFC West division.

San Francisco appears to have put the two losses on the season behind them, but it’s uncertain if they can continue to play consistently well on offense moving forward.

#5 Chicago Bears (6-1)

Although everyone continues to wait for the Green Bay Packers to surge back to dominant status and snatch the lead in the NFC North division, the Bears were able to hold off Cam Newton and company in Week 8 to keep the lead in the division with only one loss on the season thus far.
