#1 Green Bay Packers (1-0)

The defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers proved that they hadn’t lost a step in the season opener this past Thursday as they were able to light up the scoreboard against the New Orleans Saints and get off to a 1-0 start in this title defense.

The Packers defense did give up more points than anyone had anticipated they would against Drew Brees and company, but Green Bay is still without a doubt the best team in the league.

#2 New England Patriots (1-0)

The New England Patriots might not have a defense that can be compared amongst the best in the league like the Green Bay Packers or the Chicago Bears, but their offense could eventually be considered the best in the league as reigning NFL MVP quarterback Tom Brady just blew up in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins with a record 517 yards and four touchdowns.

If Bill Belichick can get the defense on track, this team will be very tough to beat this season.

#3 Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)

The league’s newest “Super” team didn’t disappoint in their season opener against the St. Louis Rams as Michael Vick and company were as advertised on offense. The defense definitely needs work, just like every team’s defense seems to need this season, but they look like they might turn out to be the best team in the NFC Conference this season.

#4 Baltimore Ravens (1-0)

The one elite team in the league that had arguably the toughest challenge heading into this NFL regular season was the Baltimore Ravens as they had to go head-to-head against the arch rival Pittsburgh Steelers right out of the gate.

Despite facing a division rival and one of the best teams in the league in Week 1, the Ravens were up to the challenge with a surprisingly good offense and a defense that held the Steelers to just seven points. I get the feeling that Pittsburgh might be passing the torch to their arch rivals this season.

#5 New York Jets (1-0)

After the first three quarters of the Week 1 showdown against the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Jets looked like they had some serious problems on defense, but in the fourth quarter they outscored America’s Team 17-0 and came out with the victory.
