NFL Week 6: Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots odds and predictions

Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots Sun. Oct. 17th 1pm EST

In the first game that these two AFC Conference heavyweights played in the playoffs last season, the Baltimore Ravens absolutely dominated the New England Patriots from start to finish as up and coming running Ray Rice took full advantage of the Patriots weak secondary and led the team to victory and the next round of the postseason.

This season the New England Patriots have still had their fair share of problems on the defensive side of the football, but they played pretty well in the first five weeks of the season as they will head into their rematch with the Baltimore Ravens sporting an impressive 3-1 record in Week 6.

Just like the Patriots this season, the Ravens have also played just as well to start the year as they have a 4-1 record and will be looking to get their fifth win of the season this Sunday in Foxboro at Gillette Stadium.

Even though I believe both of these teams are playoff bound and could make a push for the Super Bowl at season’s end, it would be difficult to argue that the Baltimore Ravens aren’t the better all around team as they have a solid defense and a potent offense.

Not only are the Ravens the better team and destine to win this game in my opinion, but the Patriots will be playing in their first game without their superstar wide receiver Randy Moss who they traded to the Minnesota Vikings about a week ago. With Moss downfield, the Patriots offense could be a bit shaky on offense this week and as a result allow the Ravens lockdown defense to control the game from start to finish.

As of right now, the New England Patriots are favored by -2.5, but I just don’t see them getting the best of this Baltimore Ravens squad.
