Lions stay undefeated after impressive comeback against Cowboys

The Detroit Lions have been the talk of the NFL this season after they were able win the first three games of the season and live up the hype they were receiving in the preseason. Even though the Lions looked like one of the best teams in the league coming into Week 4 after beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs and the Minnesota Vikings in consecutive weeks, Matthew Stafford and company had their work cut out for them against the Dallas Cowboys who were considered to be their toughest opponent thus far.

In the first half of this Week 4 showdown between the Cowboys and the Lions, Tony Romo and company were absolutely dominating the undefeated Detroit squad and looked like they were going to pull off the blowout win and hand the Lions their first loss of the season. Even though the Cowboys were firing on all cylinders, the second half was another story altogether with the Lions coming from behind to challenge the Cowboys.

At the end of the third quarter, the Lions had added two touchdowns to their score and were just 13 points behind the Cowboys. In the fourth quarter, Dallas had yet another epic collapse in which their defense failed to maintain the lead and the offense failed to put more points on the scoreboard.

The Detroit Lions scored 17 unanswered points and took the lead late in the game on a touchdown grab from elite wide receiver Calvin Johnson. The deadly combination of quarterback Matthew Stafford and wideout Calvin Johnson came to life in the fourth quarter as the two combined for 96 yards and two touchdowns while leading the Detroit Lions to the 34-30 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

After pulling off this amazing comeback, the Detroit Lions are officially the real deal and a legitimate force to be reckoned with in the NFC Conference. Whether or not they can maintain this kind of momentum moving forward remains to be seen, but the Lions will definitely be one of the intriguing teams to watch for the rest of the season.
