Big news came out of the Mile High City on Mon. March 19 as it was made known that four-time NFL MVP quarterback Peyton Manning has chosen to sign with the Denver Broncos. After meeting with the Broncos on March 9, the consensus around the league was that Denver was the favorite to land Manning. Despite efforts by the San Francisco 49ers and the Tennessee Titans, the perennial Pro Bowler decided that the Broncos were his next team.
With Peyton Manning deciding to join the Broncos, the future of up-and-coming quarterback Tim Tebow is very much up in the air. There is no question that Manning will be the starter and remain the starter until his skills drastically decline or he decides to retire. With that being said, Tebow would be a long-term backup for the Broncos and that wouldn’t make much sense considering his current trade value.
After getting the decision by Peyton Manning, the Denver Broncos have let it be known that they intend to trade Tim Tebow. Despite having a very good sophomore season with Denver last year, the former Heisman trophy winner will be headed elsewhere and possibly a starter for another team next season.
There are quite a few teams that might be able to land Tim Tebow for the right price. The obvious teams are the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars. With Tebow a hero in the state of Florida and a major fan favorite, these two teams will most likely be the frontrunners to land the superstar. The acquisition of Tebow will instantly get the ticket sales soaring as the Dolphins or Jaguars can expect packed stadiums for the foreseeable future.
Other teams also potentially in the running to trade for Tim Tebow is the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and the Buffalo Bills.
