The one thing that all NFL fans have been wondering about over the past few weeks is where will four-time NFL MVP quarterback Peyton Manning end up. With the Indianapolis Colts officially cutting the superstar quarterback loose, teams around the league looking for a franchise QB has been inquiring about his services. There have been plenty of teams looking to acquire one of the league’s greatest quarterbacks of all-time, but only a short list of true contenders.
With the teams narrowed down to the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers, only one could win and the Mile High City it is. Even with the Broncos’ resurgence or sorts last season with second-year quarterback Tim Tebow leading the way and making Denver one of the hottest teams in the league, Denver has chosen to pursue Peyton Manning and ultimately sign him.
Reportedly, Peyton Manning has given permission to his agent Tom Condon to start contract negotiations with the Denver Broncos. Initial discussions with the Broncos have a contract of $95 million over the next five years. Not a bad chunk of change for a guy recovering from numerous neck surgeries and a lot of question marks about whether or not he can still play at a high level on a different team.
So if the negotiations go the right way, the Denver Broncos will have themselves a new franchise quarterback that might drastically turnaround this storied NFL franchise. The Broncos might instantly turn into a Super Bowl title contender from here on out if Peyton Manning is back to form as one of the elite quarterbacks in the league.
The fate of Tim Tebow is yet to be determined. There would be no better way to develop the up-and-coming quarterback then to sit behind Peyton Manning, but rumor has it that the Broncos are looking to trade Tebow.
