San Diego Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs Mon. Sept. 13th 10:15pm EST
The San Diego Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs are two teams in the AFC West division heading in completely different directions as Norv Turner and company have their sights set on competing for a Super Bowl and the Chiefs just want to finish the season with a winning record.
The odds on this game at DSI Diamond Sportsbook have the Chargers as 4.5 point favorites. Other online sportsbook like Bodog have the spread set at -5 for the Saints. Continue Reading…
NFC South: New Orleans Saints (13-3)
The defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints were destined to be the league’s best team last year, but even though they are the champs coming into this season, not many people are giving them a chance to pull off the repeat as the consensus is that the Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings are better all around teams. Although there are some very close odds in this Division, we can see the online sportsbooks logic in putting the Saints at +375, which makes them the front runner in the NFC. Continue Reading…
AFC South: Indianapolis Colts (14-2)
Last season the Indianapolis Colts were arguably the best team in the league during the regular season as they won 14 straight games and basically conceded the last two games of the regular season in order to keep four-time NFL MVP quarterback Peyton Manning and perennial Pro Bowl wideout Reggie Wayne healthy for the playoffs.
Even though the Colts lost to the Saints in the Super Bowl, most people believe the Sean Payton and company got lucky against Jim Caldwell’s squad and this season Indianapolis will look to prove it. We like the odds by the latest online sportsbooks that show the Colts at -400 to win the AFC. Continue Reading…
The Chicago Bears are coming off a very disappointing season in which they were ravaged by injuries and breaking in a new starting quarterback in the form of Pro Bowler Jay Cutler.
Even though it seemed that the team was heading in the right direction with the acquisition of a franchise quarterback and the defense getting back to form, the team just fell apart last season and weren’t able to get anything going until near the end of the regular season where they finally struck up some team chemistry. This past Sunday the United States national basketball team or Team USA as it is better known, were given a run for their money when they went up against Ricky Rubio’s Spanish squad.
Even though the Americans came out on top 86-85, after Kevin Durant saved the day with a blocked shot at the buzzer, it would be safe to say that Spain basically outplayed them throughout the entire game as some of Team USA’s players really struggled, especially late in the game when Spain was threatening to come away with the win. The Denver Broncos made a bold move during the offseason by selecting arguably one of the best college football players of all-time in quarterback Tim Tebow in the 2010 NFL Draft (25th overall pick). Even though he was able to lead the Florida Gators to two BCS championships during his time in college, Tebow has been considered a player that wouldn’t be able to transcend his game on the NFL level as he wasn’t more of a threat with his feet rather than his arm. The Brett Favre fiasco continues as the 20-year veteran quarterback has still yet to make up his mind about returning to the Minnesota Vikings this season, but even though he hasn’t officially made it clear that he will return or chose to retire, the three-time NFL MVP was visited by three of his closest teammates recently and the outcome has been favorable to say the least for the Vikings.
We are not sure how the online sportsbooks will react if it ends up that Favre returns to the team. It will be pretty interesting to watch unfold. Continue Reading…
The NFL preseason if finally underway and even though a lot people have been looking forward to the debut of big-name rookie quarterbacks like Colt McCoy, Tim Tebow, Jimmy Clausen and Sam Bradford, there are some other big-name QBs making their debut with new teams like six-time Pro Bowler Donovan McNabb.
During his time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Donovan McNabb was arguably one of the top five quarterbacks in the league as he consistently led his team to winning seasons with five NFC championship games and one Super Bowl appearance. Continue Reading…
The NFL regular season is still a few weeks away with the highly anticipated NFC championship rematch between the Minnesota Vikings taking on the New Orleans Saints on September 9th, but until then there will be four preseason games for each of the 32 NFL franchises before the upcoming season gets underway.
Even though NFL preseason games are pretty pointless and have no bearing on the upcoming regular season, they can still paint a picture of things to come as these team’s superstars show they haven’t missed a step and new additions try to prove they are worth enough to make the team. The New York Jets are one of the most promising young teams in the NFL right now as they have arguably the league’s best defense, a passionate head coach in Rex Ryan that is liked by the entire team and the future face of the franchise in quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Even though they must get better on the offensive side of the football and they almost certainly will this season with the additions of running back LaDainian Tomlinson and wide receiver Santonio Holmes, the defense is top notch with arguably the best shutdown cornerback in the NFL in Darrelle Revis.
