The one big-name player that has been mentioned in almost every blockbuster trade scenario in the NBA this season has been none other than Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic. With Howard believing that he doesn’t have a chance to win a championship in Orlando and would love to play in a bigger market, the best center in the NBA today would like to be traded before the NBA trade deadline on March 15.
With that being said, the league has been buzzing with trade rumors involving the superstar center. Despite every team in the league drooling at the prospect of acquiring the perennial All-Star, Howard has marked the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and the New Jersey Nets as the three teams he would like to be traded to.
Even though the Nets and Mavs might not have the players the Magic would be interested in return for Dwight Howard, the consensus is that if Dwight Howard gets traded it will be to one of the three teams mentioned. Apparently, Orlando Magic owner Richard Devos doesn’t want to trade his superstar center and wants him to stay in Orlando.
The 85-year-old owner of the NBA franchise has said that he plans on Dwight Howard staying despite the trade requested earlier in the season. This seems like an unlikely scenario at this point with the NBA trade deadline rapidly approaching and Dwight Howard getting closer and closer to his goal of being traded elsewhere.
At this point in time, anything can happen and the superstar center staying in Orlando might not be as much of a stretch as it seems, but the consensus around the league is that it is just a matter of time before he is dealt to the Lakers, Mavs or Nets.
