It appears that the Brett Favre saga in the NFL might not be done just yet as a new rumor has started to circulate around the league with the three-time NFL MVP quarterback being linked to the Philadelphia Eagles. Obviously, with Michael Vick becoming one of the all-around quarterbacks in the league once again last season, the Eagles have no intention in making the 20-year veteran their starter, but bringing Favre into the mix does make things interesting as head coach Andy Reid might have some tricks up his sleeve.
After last season the Brett Favre era in the NFL seemed to be over with no doubt that he may have finally started to see his skills decline, but the one-time Super Bowl and NFL legend could help the Philadelphia Eagles reach the next level. There is no question that Favre will not see much time on the gridiron as Reid will want to keep his superstar quarterback in Michael Vick on the field as much as possible. Even though that will be the case, the Eagles could benefit from the veteran quarterback helping Vick along the way.
With backup quarterback Kevin Kolb on the verge of being traded elsewhere, the Philadelphia Eagles will be in the market for a backup and might seriously consider making an offer to Brett Favre to come out of retirement once again. Whether or not Favre will be willing to take on a backup role in Philly remains to be seen, but another pay day and a chance to compete for another Super Bowl title might be too much for the Silver Fox to pass up on.
As long as Brett Favre doesn’t make waves in Philadelphia and realizes that Michael Vick is the man I believe this would be a great move for the Eagles, but if not he could cause more harm than good.
