Last season the Houston Texans were arguably one of the best teams in the league in the first few weeks of the year, but as the season wore on the Texans started to struggle and ultimately finished with a disappointing record and missed their shot at contending for the AFC South division title. This season things have drastically changed within the AFC South division with superstar quarterback Peyton Manning potentially being out for the season and the Jacksonville Jaguars making a change at quarterback.
With these two things changing the look of the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Houston Texans have a great shot of contending for the division title this season and after their 2-0 start Matt Schaub and company are the favorites to win the division title. Not only are the Texans destined to win the AFC South division title, but it will be the first time in franchise history that this team will be playoff bound.
So with history on the horizon, the Texans will head into Week 3 will all the confidence they need to continue their successful season, but they will have their work cut out for them against one of the best teams in the NFC Conference in the New Orleans Saints.
Even though the New Orleans Saints lost to the lowly Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the playoffs last year, this season Drew Brees and company seem to be back with a vengeance and reclaim their elite status in the NFL. This game should be one of the most entertaining of Week 3 with two potent offenses going head-to-head.
As of right now, the New Orleans Saints are favored to win with a -4 point spread. This spread seems fair to me as the Saints should come out on top, but the Texans could pull off the upset if Arian Foster can get back to form.
Take the Saints at -4.
