Broncos @ Raiders Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 8:20 p.m. ET
The Denver Broncos haven’t missed a beat with new starting quarterback Peyton Manning under center during the 2012 NFL season. There were a lot of questions surrounding Manning’s return to the field with the Broncos, but he’s proved all of his doubters wrong with another MVP-caliber season and record-breaking performances as Denver’s leader.
As a result of the win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 13, the Broncos have officially won the AFC West division title and punched their ticket to the playoffs. With a playoff spot clinched, the aim to secure the best spot in the postseason possible with as many wins as possible in the final four games of the regular season.
In Week 14, Manning and company will go on the road to face off against the bitter division rival Oakland Raiders on their home field at O.co Coliseum in the Bay Area.
The Raiders were thought to be a team on the rise in the AFC this season after a promising start to the Carson Palmer era last year. Oakland fell just short of a division title last season and was thought to capitalize this time around, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case with the Raiders struggling all season long and coming into this matchup with a disappointing 3-9 record.
Along with the ugly three-win record, the Raiders have lost five in a row coming into this AFC West showdown and will likely lose a sixth straight with Manning and company on fire right now.
As of right now, the Broncos are heavily favored to get the win in Week 14 with a -11 point spread. That’s a bit high in my opinion. Broncos will win, but not by that margin.
Take the Raiders at +11.
