Saints @ Giants Sunday, Dec. 3, 2012 4:25 p.m. ET
The NFC East division title is no longer a given for the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants with the Washington Redskins fresh off an impressive win over Eli manning and company and the Dallas Cowboys with a renewed sense of purpose due to the win over the Giants in Week 1.
The race for the division title has become intriguing to say the least moving forward as the final four games of the season will be crucial for New York. The Giants’ hopes to clinch a playoff spot and defend their Super Bowl title will lean heavily on the team’s performances in these final weeks.
As for the New Orleans Saints, Drew Brees and company have begun to struggle once again with two consecutive losses coming into this matchup with the defending champs at MetLife Stadium.
The Saints showed signs of drastically turning things around in Week 10 by handing the division rival Atlanta Falcons their first loss of the season, but since that time have only recorded one more win against arguably one of the worst teams in the league by taking down the Oakland Raiders a week later.
Unfortunately for New Orleans, the season appears to be over in terms of playoff hopes for the Saints unless they can win the last four games. The matchup against the Giants will be a challenge to say the least as New York will look to bounce back after the loss to Robert Griffin III and company in Week 13.
As of right now, Eli’s Giants have the edge with a -5 point spread heading into this matchup in New York. Brees will put up a fight, but in the end, the Giants will prevail while covering the spread.
Take the Giants at -5.
