Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans Sun. Sept. 12th 1pm EST
The Indianapolis Colts might still be feeling the sting of losing the Super Bowl to the New Orleans Saints this past February, but even though they missed the chance to win their second title in the Peyton Manning era, the will come into this NFL regular season with high hopes of getting back to the Super Bowl and winning another title.
As expected, the Colts are the favorites this week, with odds set at -2 Colts by the best online sportsbooks around.
Even though the four-time NFL MVP quarterback Peyton Manning might be one year older, the Colts gunslinger is just as sharp as ever and will be looking to prove that point in the season opener against the division rival Houston Texans in Week 1.
Coming into this season opener against Peyton Manning and company, the Houston Texans will have an uphill battle from beginning to end as their defense will be tested all day long with the potent Indianapolis Colts offense.
Despite the Colts being favored in this game and almost no one picking the Texans to come out on top in Week 1, the Houston offense has the potential to be amongst the best in the league this season with the Pro Bowl quarterback and wide receiver combo of Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson. With that being said, the Texans could give Peyton Manning and company a run for their money in the first game of the regular season, but without a decent running game to keep the Colts secondary honest and the lack of a defense capable of containing the Colts air attack, the Texans will almost certainly fall to 0-1 to start the season.
With this Week 1 victory, the Colts will be off and running once again as they try and repeat last season’s amazing 14-game win streak to start the year. Get in on this week’s NFL football betting early for the best action.
