Chris Paul wants to be traded to the New York Knicks

The NBA offseason has been arguably the most action packed of any offseason in the NBA in the history of the league. Not only were there a lot of big-name free agents available to the highest bidder this summer with a handful of teams clearing enormous amounts of cap space to sign them, but there have also been plenty of trades that have gone down as well.

Obviously, the highlight of the NBA offseason this summer was the Miami Heat signing three of the biggest free agents available in Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and most notably LeBron James. This was unprecedented to say the least as not since the days of the ’04 Los Angeles Lakers (Shaq, Kobe Bryant, Gary Payton and Karl Malone) have we seen so many superstars joining forces on the same team.

With this new superstar big three being formed in South Beach, many teams around the league have been trying to figure out how they are going to be able to contend with this new NBA superpower and the majority of the teams in the NBA have had no answer in terms of improving their team via trade or free agency.

One team that has done literally nothing to improve their franchise this offseason has been the New Orleans Hornets. Last season was arguably their most disappointing season ever since they drafted All-Star point guard Chris Paul, but it wasn’t Paul’s play that resulted in such a poor performance.

Even though Chris Paul was hurt for the majority of the season for the Hornets last year, the New Orleans franchise really struggled to get anything going and ultimately missed the playoffs. As a result, the Hornets are viewed as no longer being a serious threat in the Western Conference and they may have also lost their All-Star point guard.

Reportedly, three-time All-Star and arguably the best all around point guard in the league today has asked to be traded. Chris Paul made his feelings about the team known recently as he saw the franchise do nothing in order to put a competitive team on the floor next season.

As of right now, Chris Paul has two teams on his list of possible trade destinations in the Orlando Magic and the New York Knicks. Even though Dwight Howard has asked the Magic to try and accommodate a trade for Paul, the All-Star point guard would rather be dealt to the New York Knicks to play alongside Amare Stoudemire and possibly Carmelo Anthony after next season.

It is uncertain how this deal will go down or what players could be involved, but one thing seems certain at this point, Chris Paul will not be playing in a Hornets uniform next season.

Allen Iverson and Shaq going to the Knicks? I can see shaq there maybe but I am not sure they would take a risk on Iverson as he has not proven himself after getting another shot last year. Actually, he was never given a true shot.

  2. Sonny says:

I will give you 5 things the knicks can do to win the championship this year yes this year.

    1. trade toney douglas and azibuike with 2 draft picks for chris paul new orleans needs to restart with new gm and coach so they will like to have young talent n draft picks.

    2. trade wilson chandler, eddy curry, Danilo Gallinari with 2 draft picks for Carmelo Anthony and anthony carter. The nuggets would onlly take this it they knew that melo won’t resign they would enjoy getting young talent instead of just losing in th first round n losing melo.

    3. Sign Allen iverson yes this article is about not signing him but you guys he is working out harder than ever. he did good in philly for havin to pass the ball 3 or 4 times before you could even shoot. he did good in the game where he did take over against the lakers. getting 11 straigh points that included an and 1 layup, 2 3 pointer, midrange, everything you want and now he can concintrate on playing bball.

    4. Sign shaq he still has a little left in the tank n still dominate the paint. Sign him and you will have something that can play with orlando n kill the miami heat.

    5. Get role players, maybe go out and get a player to come off the bench for melo or have him starter and let ai come off the bench since he wants to. resign eddy house get some 3 pointers. you already have anthony randolph. great pick up!!!

Starting 5, PG CHRIS PAUL, SG AI SF MELO PF AMARE C SHAQ

ROLE PLAYES… RAYMOND FELTON, T MAC, ANTHONY RANDOLPH, BILL WALKER. E HOUSE N MAYBE RESIGN EARL BARRON

NOW DOES THAT NOT LOOK LIKE A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM
