NFL Trade: Chad Ochocinco and Albert Haynesworth get dealt to the New England Patriots

The New England Patriots have done it yet again as the Bill Belichick and company have pulled off some trades where no one expected them to. Coming into this free agency period, the Patriots had been extremely quiet about their intentions and if they had any intentions at all. Despite no word coming out of Foxboro, New England may have made their already dominant squad even better on both sides of the football.

The first move the New England Patriots made was a questionable one at best, but it might turn out to be genius by Belichick once again as he pulled the trigger on a trade to bring in two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth from the Washington Redskins. Even though Haynesworth was nothing but trouble in the nation’s capital for head coach Mike Shanahan that could quickly change under Bill Belichick who doesn’t take any flak from his players and has a reputation for rehabilitating players just like Haynesworth.

Almost immediately after acquiring Albert Haynesworth, the New England Patriots dropped another bombshell on the NFL by making a trade to bring in superstar wide receiver Chad Ochocinco from the Cincinnati Bengals. This move is one that might have been in the works from quite some time as Ochocinco expressed his interest in playing for the Patriots and New England needs the downfield threat for Tom Brady that they lost after trading Randy Moss to the Minnesota Vikings last season.

There is no question that both of these moves are risky to say the least as both Haynesworth and Ochocinco have personalities that can tear a team apart, but Bill Belichick seems to be up to the task and ready to compete for another Super Bowl title next season.
