#1 Green Bay Packers
With relatively the same team intact, the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers are the team to beat heading into the 2011-2012 NFL preseason. Reigning Super Bowl MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers will look to keep the magic alive in Green Bay with his potent offense while being backed up by one of the best all-around defenses in the NFL.
The Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints and the division rival Chicago Bears will be the biggest bumps in the road for the defending champs, but Aaron Rodgers and company will be up to the task.
#2 New England Patriots
Now that head coach Bill Belichick has added a downfield threat for superstar quarterback Tom Brady in wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and gotten a serious upgrade on defense with the addition of Pro Bowler Albert Haynesworth, the New England Patriots will look to get back on track this season and try to become the team to beat in the AFC Conference.
It will be interesting to see whether or not Ochocinco and Haynesworth turn out to be a step forward or backward for the Patriots.
#3 Philadelphia Eagles
No team in the NFL made a bigger splash in the free agent market than the Philadelphia Eagles. Not only did the Eagles already have arguably the most talented team in the league on offense with players like quarterback Michael Vick, wide receiver DeSean Jackson and running back LeSean McCoy terrorizing opponents, but now they have a defense that could quickly turn into the best in the league with the addition of Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
Get ready for another extremely entertaining season from the Philadelphia Eagles with a Super Bowl title potentially on the horizon.
#4 New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints may have been embarrassed by the Seattle Seahawks in the playoffs last season, but they will be back with a vengeance this time around as superstar quarterback Drew Brees looks to get his team back on track.
With Reggie Bush gone and Heisman trophy winning rookie running back Mark Ingram in, the Saints might finally have the kind of running game they need to get to the next level and back in Super Bowl title contention in the NFC Conference.
#5 Pittsburgh Steelers
As arguably the most consistent team in the NFL over the last half decade or so, the Pittsburgh Steelers should be amongst the league’s elite class once again with the NFL’s best defense.
