Matt Hassellback is set to start for the Seahawks against the Saints

The NFL playoffs will be officially underway this weekend and even though there are quite a few intriguing matchups, there is one game that is poised to be a blowout and no contest.

The Seattle Seahawks have been a decent football team all season long with new head coach Pete Carroll calling the shots, but they were unable to finish the year with winning record at 7-9 and still won the NFC West division title and make it into the playoffs.

Along with barely making it into the playoffs and receiving a lot of criticism for doing so with a losing record, the Seattle Seahawks will have their work cut out for them as they will be going up against the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.

Not only are the Saints playing at an extremely high level right now and ready to defend their title, but they will be facing a team with a bit of a quarterback controversy as Pete Carroll has flip flopped between veteran Matt Hassellback and Charlie Whitehurst.

Even though the future of this franchise seems to be in the hands of Whitehurst, unless Carroll makes a move in the 2011 NFL Draft or an offseason trade, the Seahawks will be going with Hassellback against the Saints this weekend.

Personally, I think this is probably a smart move as the Seahawks will almost certainly struggle anyway and can just ultimately go to Whitehurst if they do, but could be a big risk as New Orleans could get out to an insurmountable lead by putting a lot of pressure on Hassellback.

No matter what the Seattle Seahawks do in this matchup, I believe they will have no chance in this game as the New Orleans Saints will almost certainly come out with the win and advance to the next round.
