NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets in Sunday Night Football

Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets Sun. Sept. 11, 2011 8:20 p.m. EST

Week 1 of the NFL regular season looks like it could be one of the best weeks of the year for football with some great matchups to open the season, but perhaps one of the most intriguing matchups will be played at New Meadowlands Stadium when the Dallas Cowboys take on the New York Jets.

Not only are the Cowboys and the Jets considering to be two of the most talented teams in the NFL coming into this Week 1 showdown, but this game will showcase a battle of the Ryan brothers with Rex Ryan leading New York against Rob Ryan’s Dallas defense. This will be interesting to say the least as both brothers have similar styles and learnt everything they know from their father in the legendary Buddy Ryan. Continue Reading…

It appears that one of the best start streaks in the NFL has officially come to an end as four-time NFL MVP quarterback Peyton Manning will sit out Week 1 of the NFL regular season against the division rival Houston Texans. NFL Preseason: Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Jets

As arguably two of the best all-around teams in the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets squaring off in their final preseason game before the regular season could be a potential Super Bowl preview.

With the Eagles signing a ton of Pro Bowlers and recently re-signing Michael Vick to a six-year $100 million dollar contract, Philly will have a lot of pressure on them to be successful this season and possibly contend for a Super Bowl title or at least an appearance in the big game in February. NFL Preseason: Cleveland Browns vs Chicago Bears

Cleveland Browns @ Chicago Bears Thurs. Sept. 1, 2011 8 p.m. EST

The Cleveland Browns are the talk of the NFL right now as they have quickly transformed from a team with no hope for the future with a bunch of young prospects into a squad with playoff aspirations heading into the NFL regular season. There are still a lot of things that quarterback Colt McCoy and company need to do in order to compete with the best of the best in the AFC Conference or even within the AFC North division, but they seem to be on the right track with a new coaching staff that has seemingly turned the team around on the offensive side of the football. Houston Texans running back Arian Foster reinjures hamstring

Over the past couple of seasons, the Houston Texans have become a team on the rise in the NFL with one of the best offenses in the NFL both on the ground and through the air. Before last season, the Texans depended solely on their passing game to score touchdowns due to their weak backfield, but then in came up-and-coming running back Arian Foster.

Last season Arian Foster burst onto the scene in the NFL and quickly became one of the best running backs in the league. With a potent running game and a dominant passing game led by Pro Bowlers Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson, the Houston Texans became a legitimate playoff team and threatened to beat out the Indianapolis Colts for the AFC South division title. Veteran running back Larry Johnson signs with the Miami Dolphins

Once the NFL lockout was officially over, the Miami Dolphins were a team actively looking to improve their squad on the offensive side of the football. The quarterback position was their first priority as Chad Henne hasn’t really turned out to be the kind of leader under center that they expected him to be and there were definitely some free agent options around the league at the quarterback position.
