As arguably two of the best all-around teams in the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets squaring off in their final preseason game before the regular season could be a potential Super Bowl preview.
With the Eagles signing a ton of Pro Bowlers and recently re-signing Michael Vick to a six-year $100 million dollar contract, Philly will have a lot of pressure on them to be successful this season and possibly contend for a Super Bowl title or at least an appearance in the big game in February. There will be no shortage of competition in the NFC Conference with teams like the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and the division rival Dallas Cowboys, but the consensus is that the Philadelphia Eagles could be the most talented team on both sides of the football coming into this NFL regular season.
With that being said, the Eagles will have high expectations, but so with the Jets who plan on making the next step and reaching the Super Bowl after coming up one game short over the last two seasons. The Jets definitely have the experience when compared to the Eagles, but Philly could be their equal on the defensive side of the football.
Obviously, neither team will be playing their starters for long in this final preseason game, but if they do it could turn out to be a very entertaining first quarter and possibly first half. The Eagles might have the edge in this matchup in terms of having the better offense, but the Jets are a veteran squad with a vicious defense that might be looking to put both Michael Vick and or Vince Young on their backs all night long.
