Trump Unveils Childcare Tax Relief Plans

18 September 2025

Trump gave specific goals - and policy details - urging the United States "to start thinking big once again".

For Trump's plans to succeed, they would have to overcome forces in the economy, such as rising automation, an aging population and low-wage competition overseas, that have led even conservative economists to call 4 percent growth an improbable goal.

In a speech to the Economic Club of New York, Trump said that his plan - a mix of tax cuts, regulation elimination and new spending - would reduce the nation's tax burden by $4.4 trillion over 10 years and create 25 million jobs.

In the past week Trump has added new tax breaks for parents with children to his plans.

Trump also said during the rally that Clinton is "in all fairness. lying in bed and getting better". In a question-and-answer session, he added that his plan would decimate the tax preparer industry. After Trump increased the tax brackets on his plan from 10 percent, 15, percent, and 25 percent to 12 percent, 25 percent, and 33 percent, experts at the Tax Foundation, a bipartisan think tank, noted that this would certainly help mitigate the estimated loss in revenue.

Further proposals ranged from cutting regulations on environmental and consumer protection, to completely scrapping rules on power-plant emissions and food-safety standards.

"America's annual trade deficit is now $800 billion a year".

The study is ongoing, and the researchers said they plan to expand their investigation to 200 cases and 400 matched controls. She was admitted to hospital after a prolonged fever, rashes and conjunctivitis on Sunday, and tested positive for Zika .

"Everything broken today can be fixed and every failure can be turned into a great success", Trump said, referring to the problems he sees in the US.

Trump's campaign released the records, timed with the airing of his appearance discussing them on the "Dr. Oz Show". But on Thursday, he put out an update to the latter and packaged many of his past plans into what he calls an "economic policy package". "Now cars are made in Mexico and you can't drink the water in Flint".

Democrats in the Senate pushed for new legislation that would require future presidential candidates, and Trump himself, to release their returns if they accept their respective party's nomination. "It's a bad thing that's happening", he said.

The mogul began his address by boasting of his rising poll numbers.

That's a dramatic shift from the Republican nominee's longtime explanation that an ongoing audit is preventing him from releasing his tax returns.

Terry Lundgren, the chair of Macy's and head of the Economic Club, skipped Thursday's event. Trump made similar comments on CNBC in May, during an interview in which he also said he would "make a deal" on debt.

Trump was introduced by running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who criticized Hillary Clinton, suggesting her campaign was lackluster in its policies.
